Update Holland Malt, Covid-19

The Netherlands, March 20, 2020

Dear Client,

We first would like to express our hope that you are well, as well as all your beloved ones!

These are challenging times for all of us. It is important to cooperate now and to keep our supply chains going. By doing so we can continue to reach the beer consumer, who will not stop to drink beer.

At Holland Malt many of our staff is currently working from home. Our systems function well and production and delivery of malt is largely proceeding as normal. Container availability in Rotterdam, the largest port in the EU, remains quite good in general, with the flow of containers expected to increase in 3-5 weeks now that China is starting up again and resuming its exports to Europe. Availability of trucks and river barges for malt deliveries to nearby destinations is also good.

On the raw material side, we have our local malting barley crop available, as well as our multiple origin access to the main EU malting barley regions through our port locations.

We are currently working on stand-by solutions, which will continue to ensure our flow of malt to you. As an example, we have our certified in-house laboratory geared up and ready to take over, should the foreign lab you requested close or not be reachable by courier services.

We would like to specifically call upon you to contact us for any question or concern you may have. Exchange of information is very important in these circumstances and is helpful to all. Holland Malt remains at your service. Together we will manage these times!

Sincerely yours, kind regards,

Jos Jennissen

CEO
